Definisi Tajwid menurut Bahasa

Tajwid menurut bahasa berasal dari kata bahasa arab (جوّد - يجوّد) yang artinya membikin bagus, membuat lebih baik, memperindah. Orang arab mengatakan “ جوّد الشيئ “ artinya : dia membuat sesuatu itu lebih bagus.

Menurut Istilah

Adapun tajwid menurut istilah adalah mengeluarkan setiap huruf dari makhrojnya, serta memberikan huruf-huruf tersebut hak dan mustahaknya.

التجويد في الاصطلاح هو إخراج كلّ حرف من مخرجه مع إعطائه حقّه و مستحقّه .

Dan yang dimaksud dengan:

Hak huruf adalah sifat-sifat asli dan esensial yang dimiliki oleh suatu huruf, yang tidak akan terpisah darinya, seperti: jahr dan syiddah.

Mustahak huruf adalah sifat-sifat tidak asli yang terdapat pada huruf, karena sebab tertentu, seperti: tafkhim dan tarqiq.

Berdasarkan uraian diatas dapat kita simpulkan bahwa; Ilmu tajwid adalah ilmu yang mempelajari kaedah-kaedah dengannya seseorang mampu dan mengetahui tatacara mengeluarkan setiap huruf dari makhrojnya, serta memberikan huruf-huruf tersebut haknya dan mustahaknya, ketika sedang membaca kitab suci al-Quran.

Pengambilan ilmu tajwid

Ilmu tajwid diambil dari Rasulullah j oleh para sahabatnya, kemudian para sahabat mengajarkan para tabi’in, para tabi’in mengajarkan kepada para tabi’i tabi’in dan seterusnya sampai ke zaman kita sekarang.

Ada juga yang mengatakan Imam Abu Umar Hafsh bin Umar bin Abdul Aziz ad-Duuri al-Azdi al-Baghdaadi an-Nahwi, salah seorang perowi Imam Abu Amr bin Al - ‘Alaa’ al-Bashri dan Imam Abu Hamzah al-Kisa’i. Beliau adalah orang yang pertama kali mengumpulkan ilmu qiroah.

Orang yang pertama kali mengarang ilmu tajwid dalam bentuk mandhzumah adalah Imam Abu Muzahim Musa bin Ubaidillah bin Yahya bin Khoqon al-Baghdadi (wafat 325H) dalam karya beliau “Al-Mandzumah Al-Khoqoniyyah” terdiri dari 51 bait syair.

Orang yang pertama kali mengarang ilmu tajwid dalam bentuk natsr adalah Imam Makky bin Abi Tholib al-Qoisy (wafat 437H) dalam kitab beliau “Ar-Ri’ayah”. Definition Tajwid by Language

Tajwid according to the language derived from the Arabic word (جود - يجود) which means to make good, make better, beautify. Arabs say "جود الشيئ" means: he makes something better.

According to the terms
