Description:

The idea of this project was born during a YiA training organized by the Czech National Agency, where one of the members of Youthroads had the chance to meet a representative of an experienced, Portuguese Ngo (ADOC) and set together the foundations of this project.
Together we drafted and developed our first Transnational Youth Initiative with the aim of developing a mobile application for locals and tourists with reduced mobility, and delivering to the political decision-makers of the region an electronic map indicating the architectonical barriers of the most popular city spots, monuments and sights, as well as a set of measures and necessary interventions for making the city center of Braga (Portugal) and of Heraklion (Crete, Greece) more accessible to people with reduced mobility.
This transnational youth initiative combines active participation of young people, inclusion of people with reduced mobility, voluntarism, creativity and social entrepreneurship, with tangible and useful results for the local society.

Description:

Youthroads is a youth non-formal group created to promote involvement and active participation of young people at local level and to encourage non-formal learning, open expression and activation of young people for the creation of a more open-minded and inclusive society. Our common beliefs and strong desire to improve the local community in order to make the most of our lives here, as well as the lives of our fellow citizens and future children, is what prompted us to create this informal group as a way to take initiatives and plan actions that engage young people from the local community.
Youthroads aims at raising awareness about issues of Human Rights, Non - Discrimination and Inclusion as well as at fostering intercultural dialogue and young people's initiative, critical thought, creativity and entrepreneurship. The actions and activities of our group aim at bringing young locals to "new roads", introducing to them new ways of thinking, doing, learning and interpreting things; new options, ideas, opinions and beliefs that they may not have encountered beforehand within the formal education system and the relatively close-minded and traditional Cretan society. Young people need to get familiar with and explore those "roads" by themselves, in order to find their personal "road": their passions, ambitions, goals, desires, values, beliefs and principals.

Description:

ADOC - Association of Constant Ocupation, is a non-profit institution founded on December 2000. During the last years, ADOC has been working to promote and protect the intangible cultural heritage of the Portuguese language throughout the world. They have studied and recorded traditions, life-stories, cultural events, the works of students in new media, and have started a process of audio visual collection of personal stories, and the tradition of the best known places to innermost.
With the support of several public and private entities, they are developing projects based on cooperative work, intending to share, disseminate, protect, study and revitalize their cultural and historic heritage. Their work includes activities for children and young people, cultivates entrepreneurship and promotes active and healthy aging for the senior.
