Mit dem Pilzführer können Sie die wichtigsten Pilzarten Mitteleuropas in nur wenigen Minuten einfach und sicher bestimmen.
Die Bestimmung der Pilze erfolgt Schritt für Schritt nach äußeren Merkmalen wie z.B. Farbe, Form oder Fleischstruktur, dabei werden keine besonderen Vorkenntnisse vorausgesetzt. Der Pilzführer richtet sich vor allem an Pilzsucher ohne größere Erfahrung und Neulinge auf diesem Gebiet. Die Anwendung ist nicht wissenschaftlich - systematisch aufgebaut sondern so, wie ein Sammler vermutlich versuchen würde, den Pilz zu bestimmen.
Die Anwendung unterscheidet also nach makroskopischen Merkmalen wie Formen und wesentlichen, ohne Hilfsmittel erkennbaren Kennzeichen.

Der Pilzführer ist eingeteilt in:
* Pilze mit Hut und Stiel:
Hierzu gehören die bekanntesten und bei Sammlern beliebtesten Röhren- und Blätterpilze wie Steinpilze und Champignons, aber auch die gefährlichsten Giftpilze wie den Grünen Knollenblätterpilz.
* Schichtpilze/Porlinge:
Sie wachsen meist auf Holz, können mehrere Jahre alt werden und sind oft für das Absterben von Bäumen verantwortlich.
* Boviste/Stäublinge/Erdsterne:
Diese Pilze wachsen sowohl an Holz als auch der Erde und sind auch bekannt als „Puff-Pilze“, weil sie die Sporen mitunter in richtigen Wolken ausstossen.
* Lorcheln/Morcheln:
Meist wachsen sie im Frühjahr, wenn es kaum andere Arten gibt. Manche von ihnen sind sehr schmackhaft, andere hingegen können sehr giftig sein.
* Becherlinge:
Man findet die sowohl recht kleinen als auch beachtlich große Arten und einige sehr farbenprächtig meist an altem Holz.
* Weitere
Pilze, die interessant, jedoch meist weniger bekannt sind oder sich hier nicht eindeutig einordnen lassen wie z.B. Gallertpilze, Schleimpilze, korallenförmige Pilze usw.

Der Pilzführer unterstützt Sie nicht nur beim Bestimmen der Pilzarten sondern ist auch Ihr persönlicher Trainer. Lernen Sie spielerisch die wichtigsten Pilzarten kennen. Der Trainer merkt Ihre
individuellen Ergebnisse und passt die Auswahl der Pilze in dem Quiz entsprechend an. Pilzarten die Sie richtig erkannt haben, werden weniger oft abgefragt, als die falsch erratenen Arten.
Die gesamten Pilzarten werden in drei Schwierigkeitsstufen eingeteilt, die nacheinander frei geschaltet werden. Durch das schnellere Erraten der Pilze bekommen Sie Bonuspunkte und können damit Ihren persönlichen Rekord aufstellen. So wird das Quiz nicht langweilig und unterstützt Sie effektiv beim Lernen neuer Arten.
