VibePlayer (Demo) APPLICATION description

The VibePlayer project takes advantage of the Sensations Technology to allow the user to experience accurate vibration feedback for audio files such as songs, audio books, etc. For example, the user can use the VibePlayer app to listen to a song, with the smart device vibrating to notes of a musical instrument within that song. This technology is different from the available technologies and it provides the accurate results needed for an enjoyable experience. You can install this working application demo and see how it works. The demo is limited to one sample track only.

There are some available technologies that do something similar to the Sensations Technology and they rely on the processing of the audio files. Those technologies cannot provide reasonable vibration feedback for a song with multiple musical instruments, which is the case for most songs.

This is where the Sensations Technology comes in. The Sensations Technology allows the user to easily create the data required for providing the vibration feedback for audio files and use it. The Sensations Technology is not limited to providing vibration feedback only. The technology allows for creating haptic (relating to touch) data to be used with any haptic feedback mechanisms. The VibePlayer project is only one example of using the Sensations Technology.

The Sensations Technology is fully developed and at the testing stage. The VibePlayer project consists of three main components which are the creation application that allows the user to create vibration data, the VibePlayer application which allows the user to use the vibration data with audio files to provide the vibration feedback, and the website which will allow the users to upload the created vibration data for other users to use.

The creation application uses a simple design that makes it easy and fun for the users to create the vibration data for audio files. A user creating vibration data for a song, would start the recording of the vibration data, and the song plays for the user to hear. Then, the user pushes a button whenever a musical note starts and releases it when the note ends then repeats for all notes and that is it.

The VibePlayer project is currently available for Android devices only. The VibePlayer application is working on Jelly Bean (4.3) and above. I will officially support Lollipop and above, though, unless a lot of people request support for the old systems. The VibePlayer application works as expected on Jelly Bean and later systems. There is an issue with the creation application on old systems such as Jelly Bean because of an API limitation, though. There are several Lollipop emulators for desktop computers that a user can use to install the creation application and create the data. So, that would not be an issue, if you have an old android device.

Now let us talk about the Android devices. Those devices fall into two categories depending on the intensity of the vibration. Some devices offer average vibration which can be felt while holding the device in your hand or pressing it against your skin. Other devices offer strong vibration which can be felt within your pocket. Most of the time, the intensity of the vibration is dependent on a setting chosen by the manufacturer of the device and it is software based.

In both cases the vibration feedback is enjoyable. Though, for devices with average vibration, you would need to hold the device or press it against your skin by using an armband, for example. I will try contacting the popular manufacturers and ask them to provide the option to select the maximum vibration intensity.

There are a lot of details that I could not add in here because of the maximum description limit. You can find those at the Indiegogo campaign page here:
