عبدالعزيز آل سعود

ولد في الرياض لأسرة آل سعود الحاكمة في نجد، ولما بلغ العاشرة من عمره انتقل مع عائلته إلى قطر ثم البحرين ثم إلى منفاهم في الكويت وكان أميرها مبارك الصباح بعد انتصار آل رشيد أمراء حائل على آل سعود، وقضى طفولته فيها. والدة عبد الرحمن بن فيصل بن تركي آل سعود آخر أئمة الدولة السعودية الثانية.وأمة سارة بنت أحمد الكبير بن محمد بن تركي بن سليمان السديري، وصفت الأميرة سارة السديري بالجمال وطول القامة؛ حيث كانت امرأة فارعة الطول ذات بنية كبيرة، ويُقال إن الملك عبدالعزيز ورث قامته الطويلة وبنيته الكبيرة عن أُمِّه.

إنطلق عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن وأتباعه، الذين بلغ عددهم أربعين، وقيل ستين، رجلاً ، في 21 رمضان سنة 1319هـ \ 2 يناير 1902م، من الكويت قاصدين الرياض لإقتحام قصرالمصمك، وهو مقر الحاكم.. وباستعادة الرياض، وضع عبد العزيز اللبنة الأولى في بناء الدولة، ومرحلة التوحيد. وتعد مرحلة ما بعد استرداد الرياض، أهم المراحل في تاريخ عبد العزيز، إذ قضى أكثر من عشرين عاماً في معارك وحروب، على أكثر من جبهة.

يعرف الملك عبدالعزيز عند العرب بإسم عبدالعزيز وعند الغرب بابن سعود لقبة الإعلام الغربي عام 1934م بأوتو فون بسمارك العرب وبنابليون العرب وأوليفر كرومويل الصحراء[الملك سليمان الجديد.
